Massage Techniques

Deep Tissue
This style includes deep kneading of both the superficial and core muscles, combined with long lighter gliding strokes to help integrate the deeper work to fully rejuvenate the body.

Myofascial Release
Works with the fascia (connective tissue) to release adhesions which bind and restrict muscle fibers.

Cross Fiber Friction
This entails very deep frictioning of the tendon or ligament, which breaks apart scar tissue, enabling the structure to re-heal in its original pattern.  This is used mainly for injuries.

Neuromuscular Therapy
This technique locates trigger points (knots or adhesions) in the muscles or connective tissue.  Steady, static pressure is applied to the point until it lets go.  The area is then stretched to elongate the muscle back to its intended length.

Relaxation
This is helpful in situations of physical or emotional fatigue, or overwhelming stress.  A firm but lighter pressure is applied, which brings blood and oxygen to the tissues and brain allowing for deep relaxation.
